HILLBURN, New York The American International College men's lacrosse team lost a back-and-forth battle with Dominican College in nonconference action on Tuesday, February 25 by a score of 13-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Spartans jumped out to an early lead, getting ahead 2-0 at the 3:10 mark.
- Sophomore Avery Foye put AIC on the board at the 6:09 mark.
- Marcos Pierce and Foye each scored in the 11th minute of the first and the Chargers held a 3-2 lead after one.
- Foye and sophomore Rusty Stone each scored early in the second to put AIC ahead; sophomore Jason Vickery set up Foye's goal and Stone scored on the rebound of a Vickery shot that hit the crossbar.
- Dominican went on a four-goal run over the final 5:45 to take a 7-4 advantage into the halftime break; Stone hit the post with 2:19 left on a shot that at the time would have tied the game at 5-5.
- The Chargers added another early goal, but then the offenses stagnated until late in the frame when Vickery set up senior Matt Quinlan and Stone for goals to make it 8-6 Chargers.
- Freshman Andrew Boyer brought AIC within one at the 1:04 mark of the 4th, but Cole Vencack responded just seven seconds later.
- The teams traded goals back and forth all the way to the end; Stone scored twice to make it a 12-11 game with 1:34 left, but Dominican finished the game with a tally to earn the 13-11 win.
A NEW RECORD:
- With five caused turnovers in the game, senior Eddie Beattie set a new AIC men's lacrosse record with 63 career caused turnovers.
- Josh Gagnon '16 held the program record previously with 62.
- Beattie is tied with Jessica Fontana '18 for third-most among both of AIC's lacrosse teams; Stefane Dufresne '17 had 68 in her career and Cheyenne Carden '16 notched 71.

- The Yellow Jackets return home to face Caldwell University in the last nonconference matchup of the regular season on Saturday, February 29 at 1 p.m.
