HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams had chances early, but it was Bentley striking first as Rachel Crowley snapped home a goal on a tip of a shot by Sam Simione on a corner at 11:07 to put the hosts up 1-0.
- AIC responded quickly on a corner of its own; after sophomore Wynona Shaw's shot was turned aside by Kayleigh Vogel, senior Katelynn Leclerc found classmate Jenny Holmquist for the equalizer at 13:13.
- AIC took the lead on a corner early in the second and it was Holmquist again, tipping a Shaw bid to put her team ahead 2-1 at 18:32 and knocking Vogel from the net.
- Bentley scored the only goal of the third, as Sam Pavano ripped a shot from the right side of the circle on a corner at 36:44.
- In the fourth, AIC came out firing, and freshman Kirstin Snethlage put the Yellow Jackets back ahead with a rocket at 46:05.
- The Yellow Jackets continued to push the pace late in the game, drawing a corner that sophomore Shannon Cormier inserted for senior Chelsea Davis to fire in at 54:51.
- The defense held from there, as did the 4-2 result.
WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T GO HOLM?:
- Holmquist's two first-half goals did more than tie the game and then give AIC the lead; they also were the 19th and 20th goals of the season for the team, matching and then passing the total from all of 2018 for the Yellow Jackets.
- The second goal also marked her 25th career point. Six of those points came in the last two games, with two assists in the team's previous matchup at Pace.
- The senior captain is just one point away from her career high from a season ago.
#BEATBENTLEY:
- AIC's last win in field hockey at Bentley was back on October 26, 2011, when Amanda McLean '12 scored in overtime to secure a 3-2 win in the Northeast-10 Quarterfinal.
- That winning goal was assisted by Jenna Masionis '15, who is the program's all-time points leader and the older cousin of Cormier.
