WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The American International College baseball team dropped both games in their doubleheader to Assumption College, falling 8-6 in game one and 13-11 in a heartbreaking game two loss on Saturday, April 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One:
- The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Junior Matt Krause knocked in a run off a single to left field and later in the inning, Krause crossed home plate on a passed ball.
- In the bottom of the first, Assumption scored their first run on a home run to right field.
- The next run came in the top of the third when senior Matthew Elliott drove in Krause on an RBI single.
- With the Yellow Jackets up 3-1, the Greyhounds scored seven unanswered runs to defeat the Yellow Jackets 8-6 in game one.
Game Two:
- In the first four innings, Assumption got out to a 4-0 lead.
- Krause grounded into a double play in the fifth, allowing freshman Cam Defeo to score from third base. The following at-bat, sophomore Anthony Clark connected on an RBI single to right field to trail Assumption by two runs.
- The Greyhounds added on one more run to their lead, but in the sixth, AIC scored four runs to give AIC their first lead of the game.
- In the top of the seventh, redshirt-senior Reed Phillips drove in the seventh run for AIC on a sacrifice fly.
- Assumption would take the lead in the bottom half of the seventh after a four-hit inning, 9-7.
- The Yellow Jackets quickly regained the lead in the eighth. Phillips drove in his fourth RBI of the game with a double to left field, giving AIC the 11-9 lead.
- In the bottom of the ninth, Jake Hamel took the game into his own hands, unleashing a massive three-run walk-off home run, giving the Greyhounds the 13-11 win over the Yellow Jackets.
