HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1:
  • The Yellow Jackets were first on the board in the top of the third. Junior Lydia DePina led things off with a single to third. Sophomore Bonnie Kennedy singled to left before senior Sarah Baganz used a sacrifice bunt to move both runners over. Freshman Victoria Andrade singled to center, which pushed one run across before an error by the center fielder allowed the second run to score.
  • New Haven charged back in the bottom of the third. They used three hits and an AIC error to take a 3-2 lead with three frames in the books. The Chargers went on to add an insurance run on their way to a 4-2 win.

Game 2:
  • New Haven started the game by scoring a run in the bottom half of the first frame.
  • DePina had the Yellow Jackets' first hit of the game in the top of the third, a single to third.
  • The Chargers added two more runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 3-0.
  • AIC started to get things going in the fourth inning. Andrade started things off with a one-out single to right field. Sophomore Makaylah Mutz then hit into a fielder's choice. Sophomore Kacie Allison singled to left to give AIC runners on first and second. The inning came to an end on a fielder's choice, and that was the last real scoring threat for AIC as the Chargers took the game 3-0.

UP NEXT:
  • The Yellow Jackets return to New Haven tomorrow, Sunday, April 14, at 11 a.m. for two more matchups.
