HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Assumption jumped out to a 5-0 lead with five different goal scorers in the first 5:12 of the game. Emily Spath, Sarah Reilly, and Callie Dwyer each had a goal and an assist for the visitors in the early going.
- The Yellow Jackets clawed back into the game with two goals, as senior attacker Brittany Hutchison scored at 6:11, and sophomore midfielder Devin Coulter netted a goal at 9:52.
- The Greyhounds responded with three quick goals, but AIC countered again, as senior midfielder Mikayla Demanche struck at 12:10 and senior attacker Mary Bates added to the tally just 38 seconds later.
- Assumption extended the lead to 14-4 before Coulter tallied again at 25:58 to close out the scoring in the half.
- The Greyhounds added to their lead out of the stoppage, notching four in the first ten minutes of the second frame.
- Once again, the Yellow Jackets had a small burst of offense, with sophomore attacker Reagan Nichols and Demanche each scoring goals to close the gap.
- The Greyhounds netted a man-up goal, which sophomore attacker Emilee Giacondino countered at 21:27, but Assumption notched the last three goals of the game for the 22-8 final.
