  • On the mound, freshman Jay Chiappetta got the start and tossed a gem, alllowing just two hits with no walks or runs through seven innings.
  • In the bottom of the seventh, junior Brendan LaVallee began the inning with a single up the middle. Two batters later, freshman Cam Defeo singled through the left side, moving LaVallee to third. After a walk drawn by junior Matt Costanza, Krause hit an infield single, driving in a run to put AIC up 2-0.
  • Two batters later in the inning, Clark forced a walk with the bases loaded to score another run and extended the lead to three.
  • In the next at-bat, redshirt junior Andrew Ciacciarelli smashed a double to right center scoring all three baserunners and making the advantage 6-0.
  • After the five-run inning from the Yellow Jackets, the umpires decided that it was too dark to continue, postponing the game after seven innings.

COACHES CORNER:
  • "Very happy," was the assessment of head coach Nick Callini of the first seven innings. I can't say enough about what Jay Chiappetta did when he came in; he threw tremendously."
