MANCHESTER, New Hampshire Despite a hat trick from senior midfielder Mikayla Demanche, the American International College women's lacrosse team fell 18-6 to Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference competition on Saturday, March 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman attacker Molly Leavitt opened the scoring for the Yellow Jackets just 1:34 into the game, but the Hawks took over from there, countering with a run of six goals before the 10-minute mark.
• Senior attacker Mary Bates broke the run with a goal at 10:53, but the Hawks again answered, scoring the next four before a pair of goals by Demanche cut back into the deficit. Saint Anselm struck once more before halftime to lead 11-4 at the break.
• Out of the halftime stoppage, Saint Anselm continued to roll, striking for four goals in the first 11 minutes. Demanche set up sophomore attacker Reagan Nichols for a man-up goal at 14:27, but the Hawks put home three of the remaining four goals in the game, broken only by Demanche's third of the afternoon at 23:49, for the 18-6 win.
