SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's basketball team upset No. 23 Le Moyne on the road 72-42 on Saturday, February 9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Dolphins won the tip and knocked down a three-pointer on their opening possession. Junior guard Rashana Siders responded with a layup to trail by just one, but Le Moyne converted on a pair of layups to make it 7-2.
- The Yellow Jackets closed the half on a 12-6 run, leading the Dolphins 14-13 after one.
- The second quarter was dominated by AIC. Senior forward Dana Watts began the quarter with a layup and a three-pointer. Senior forward Alyssa Guyon added on to the run by knocking down a jumper to extend AIC's lead to eight.
- The Yellow Jackets ended the quarter in a 14-0 run, shutting out Le Moyne in those 10 minutes. Watts and Guyon were responsible for all 14 points in the second quarter. At the break, AIC led 28-13.
- In the third quarter, the Dolphins opened up with a layup to cut the deficit to 13 points, but senior guard Dominique Boyd responded with a layup and Guyon buried back-to-back threes to extend their lead to 21 points.
- After three quarters, the Yellow Jackets led Le Moyne 51-27.
- Watts was electric to start the final quarter, sparking a quick 8-0 run in the opening minute, growing AIC's lead to 32.
- The Yellow Jackets lead was too much for the Dolphins to overcome. AIC defeated No. 23 Le Moyne convincingly, 72-42.
BUZZWORTHY:
- As a team, the Yellow Jackets shutout Le Moyne in the second quarter, the first shutout in known AIC history.
- Siders had a career high in assists with nine.
- Watts had a season high in points with 28.
- Today's win over No. 23 Le Moyne is AIC's first win over a nationally ranked opponent this season.
MILESTONE WATCH:
- Watts is second in career points with 2,067 points, behind only Juana Garcia with 2,189 points.
- Watts is also behind only Garcia in rebounds. Watts is currently at 1,109 career rebounds, while Garcia sits on the top with 1,223.
- Watts passed Garcia for the program's record for defensive rebounds with 735 defensive boards for their careers.
- Watts is currently third in AIC history for field goals made with 699, sitting behind Sharmion Selman (827) and Garcia (894).
- Watts is in sole possession of the free throws made record with 574 in 109 games. Hutchison is second on the list with 511 made free throws in 120 games.
- Guyon's 22 points improved her career total to 984, leaving her just 16 points from becoming the 22nd player in program history to reachquadruple digits.
