Men's basketball falls to Le Moyne

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's basketball team fell to Le Moyne College 87-72 on Saturday, February 9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Dolphins won the opening tip off and got on the board in their first possession. AIC responded with a pair of baskets from sophomore guard Jordan Vidal.
  • At the 14:18 mark, Le Moyne converted on a layup to go up 12-9. The Le Moyne layup sparked an 11-0 run.
  • The Dolphins lead grew to 13 points with 7:29 remaining in the first half before junior guard Zekiah Owens scored six straight points for the Yellow Jackets to make it 32-25.
  • The lead grew back up to 11 points with 1:55 remaining, but the Yellow Jackets closed out the half on a 5-0 run as they trailed Le Moyne 40-34 at the break.
  • Freshman guard Isaiah Salter opened the second half with a three, tightening the gap to three points.
  • In the next 10 minutes, Le Moyne would go on a 27-13 run to go up 17 on AIC.
  • The Yellow Jackets were unable to cut it to single-digits but fell to Le Moyne 87-72.

  • The Yellow Jackets will look to end their four game losing skid as they travel to Southern Connecticut on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:30 pm.
