EAST STROUDSBURG, Pennsylvania - The American International College baseball team dropped its season opener to East Stroudsburg University by a score of 9-1 on Thursday, February 28.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Warriors got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning after a throwing error and a bases-loaded walk.
- East Stroudsburg continued to add on runs in the second when Carson Freeman connected on a triple to left field, scoring Joey Paolini. The following at bat, Brain Kauffman knocked in one more run, giving the Warriors a 4-0 lead through two.
- With AIC down 5-0 in the sixth inning, junior third baseman Matt Costanza got the Yellow Jackets on the board with a single up the middle, scoring senior outfielder Josh Aviles to make it 5-1.
- In the eighth inning, the Warriors closed out the game, piling on four more runs, handing AIC their first loss of the season by a score of 9-1.
