GARDEN CITY, New York - The American International College women's basketball team fell 75-51 on the road to Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi University on Saturday, December 7.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Panthers won the tip but missed on their opening possession. Off the missed shot from Adelphi, senior guard Rashana Siders grabbed the rebound and sophomore guard Zoe Willis knocked down the close-range jumper to get on the board first.
- Adelphi quickly responded by going on a 7-0 run, up 7-2 over the Yellow Jackets.
- At the 6:15 mark, junior guard Destine Perry converted the layup to score AIC's second field goal of the first quarter to cut the deficit to 7-4. At the end of the first quarter, Adelphi led AIC 10-6.
- Adelphi opened up the second quarter on a 13-0 run to give the Panthers a 23-6 advantage. Freshman guard Kayla Robinson ended the scoring drought with a three-pointer cut the deficit to 14.
- The Panthers went on a 7-0 run after the Robinson three-pointer. After scoring seven unanswered points by Adelphi, the Yellow Jackets found themselves down 21 with 2:26 remaining in the first half. At the end of the second quarter, AIC went into the half down 41-14 to Adelphi.
- Willis scored the first three points of the second half, knocking down a free throw and layup. Adelphi responded with a three-pointer on the following possession, but Robinson and Siders scored six unanswered to trail Adelphi 44-23.
- The Panthers lead grew as high as 32 points before Robinson knocked down her second three-pointer, just seconds before the third quarter expired, 59-30.
- AIC opened up the final quarter with a three-pointer from Siders and jumper from junior forward Asia Turner, but Adelphi continued to respond with runs of their own. The Panthers lead was too much for the Yellow Jackets to battle back from, falling 75-51.
