HOW IT HAPPENED:
- TheChargers opened the game on a 6-0 run over the first two minutes. Freshman forward Sarah Gutin Barriero laid one in to break the Chargers' run. Down 13-8, junior guard Destine Perry started the late push with a wing three off the pass from senior guard Rashana Siders. While in the full court press, Siders stole an errant Charger pass and found Perry close to the basket for a fast break layup. Sophomore guard Zoe Willis made it a two-point game, 15-13, on a three from senior guard Nadia Wooten and forced a New Haven timeout. Freshman guard Kayla Robinson kept the run going with a layup to tie the game, but the Chargers led after 10 minutes of play, 16-15.
- The Chargers grew their lead to seven, 22-15, when Siders knocked down her second triple of the night. A pair of free throws followed made it a two-point game. Trailing 27-20, the Yellow Jackets went on a 6-1 run over two minutes to once again make it a two-point game with 1:53 remaining in the first half as Robinson hit the open three with her defender stuck behind the screen. The Chargers made a layup with three seconds left to take the 30-26 lead into the break.
- Out of the intermission, Willis nailed a three 15 seconds in which was answered with a Charger offensive rebound and put back. Thirteen seconds later, Willis sent another triple up which went through the net to tie the game at 32. Tied at 36 at the 7:06 mark, Camryn Debose drained a three that sparked a 9-0 Chargers run that lasted until the 1:59 mark when Robinson finished her layup. After three, New Haven led 45-38.
- The Yellow Jackets came out and cut their deficit to five twice in the final stanza. The five-point deficit was the closest the Yellow Jackets would get in the fourth as the visiting team took the game 65-50.
