SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Southern Connecticut State University in the Semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament on Thursday, November 13.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After 30 scoreless minutes of action, the Owls struck first. SCSU defender Paula Nunez dribbled the ball down the left side of the field and chipped a shot out of the reach of sophomore keeper Tamra Zippin to give the Owls a 1-0 advantage over the Yellow Jackets.
- At the half, AIC trailed SCSU 1-0. The bulk of the Yellow Jackets shot attempts in the first half came when seniors Alanna Gracia and Jocylyn Deome fired off shots on target, but Owls' keeper Allie Smith stopped both chances.
- Five minutes into the second half, senior midfielder Jennifer Hackett attempted to tie the mach at one, but Smith was there for the save.
- In the 71st minute, Smith stopped Gracia again, keeping her shutout alive.
- With less than two mintues remaining, sophomore forward Caroline Porter looked to give AIC a shot at overtime, but Smith recorded her fifth save of the match and completed the shutout and help the Owls advance to the NE10 Championship.
