HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Purple Knights struck first, as a free kick by Cam Goodrich was gathered by Matteo Bianchini; he tipped a pass to Jake Bannon, who headed the ball home at 12:31 of the first half.
- The Yellow Jackets responded before halftime with a passing play tally of their own, with rookie Tobias Paulsen crossing a pass near to the left post that graduate Adrian Romero dished to junior Connor Hicks for a tap-in tally at 36:03.
- Romero was not done scoring, as he started the second half with a bang, blasting in a free kick at 49:32 to give AIC the lead.
- Pushing to tie the game late, the hosts leveled the score in the 87th minute on a corner kick, with Kyle Brady serving the ball in for a Mikael Ameris header at 86:16.
- AIC came out with fire in overtime, but chances by senior Jake Durham as well as Paulsen were denied early in the first session, as was an early opportunity by junior Josip Validzic in the second extra period. Despite the 7-2 shot advantage for AIC in the bonus 20 minutes, the game ended with the score even.
