MANCHESTER, New Hampshire - The American International College men's soccer team held off Saint Anselm College, 2-1, for its first Northeast-10 Conference victory on Saturday, September 29.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore forward Josip Validzic got the Yellow Jackets on the board in the 20th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Connor Hicks.
- AIC got out to a 2-0 lead over the Hawks by the 37th minute, when grad student midfielder Alexandre Frank converted on a header.
- Saint Anselm broke the shutout in the 58th minute with a goal from Nick Heckt.
- The Yellow Jackets were able to hold off a late surge from the Hawks -including three corner kicks in the final minute -with sophomore goalie Ioannis Iatroudis making five second-half saves.
BUZZWORTHY:
- This is the fifth time this year AIC has held its opponent to one goal.
- For the second consecutive game, Validzic had a goal and Hicks recorded an assist.
- The victory snaps a six-game winless streak for the Yellow Jackets.

- AIC plays its final nonconference contest of the year at Bloomfield College on Tuesday, October 2.
