HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After a scoreless first inning, Le Moyne got things started with a home run in the bottom of the second, going ahead 1-0 on a knock from Ben Walsh. The Dolphins then dropped five runs in the third inning - including Walsh getting his second homer of the game, a three-RBI blast.
  • The Dolphins would add four more total runs over the course of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, pushing the team's lead to double digits with nobody out in the sixth.
  • JuniorMatthew Elliott took over in relief in the sixth, pitching the next 2.1 innings.
  • One of AIC's best chances came in the top of the seventh, with freshman second baseman Angel Mendez singling up the middle and junior shortstop Brendan Carter following with a walk. Carter got to third on a fielder's choice, but the Yellow Jackets could not send anyone home.
  • Le Moyne notched one more run in the eighth. Elliott continued to battle, despite rain and hail moving in, but the game was called with one out in the eighth.

BUZZWORTHY:
  • Elliott had the longest appearance on the mound of his AIC career, going 2.1 innings. He also recorded three strikeouts, marking the first time he has had any strikeouts in his three outings this year.
