HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Yellow Jackets showed up early at the plate and on the basepaths. After junior shortstop Brendan Carter was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the first, he stole second and then third base. Sophomore right fielder Matt Krause then drew a walk and subsequently stole second. Junior left fielder Reed Phillips then had a sacrifice fly to center to score Carter, and junior first baseman Sam Eagan had an RBI single to put AIC up 2-0.
- AIC continued the trend in the first inning, as junior center fielder Matthew Elliott walked and freshman catcher Will Johnson singled to load the bases. In the next at bat, freshman second baseman Angel Mendez had a double to score two more, and freshman designated hitter Ian O'Brien notched a two-RBI single to push the Yellow Jackets' lead to 6-0. By the inning's end, AIC led 7-0 thanks to an RBI single from Krause.
- Bloomfield got three runs in the top of the second inning, coming within 7-3.
- However, the Yellow Jackets answered back in the bottom of the second, adding three more runs in the frame to extend their lead to 10-3. After Phillips and Eagan reached on a walk and a single, respectively, Elliott sent both home with a double through the left side. He later found his way home after a sacrifice fly from Mendez.
- The Bears got one more run back in the top of the fifth, but AIC answered with two more; Mendez was hit by a pitch, redshirt junior third baseman Trent Dillon walked and Carter had a single to load up the bases. Mendez was able to score on a wild pitch, and Krause then had a single to score Dillon, giving AIC a 12-4 lead that would hold for the rest of the game.

Everything worked out todaywe had a big win yesterday, and carrying the momentum into today where now we have three away games at New Haven, I think it's really good for us to be able to build off that success."
