SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College men's basketball team closed out 2018 in style with an 83-63 win over Georgian Court University .

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lions opened the game on a 4-0 run in the first minute, but the Yellow Jackets held the Lions scoreless over the next two minutes as they scored eight points to take an 8-4 lead.
- AIC led 20-13 when sophomore guard Jordan Vidal sank a three to give the Yellow Jackets their first double-digit lead of the game with 8:02 left in the first half. Two possessions later, Vidal hit another three to extend the lead to 13, 26-13.
- Over the last 7:24, the Yellow Jackets kept the Lions at arm's length to take a 39-28 lead at the break.
- Out of the break, the Yellow Jackets went on a 4-0 run to force a Lion timeout. Out of the timeout, the Lions went on a 6-0 run to shrink the lead to single digits, 43-34.
- With 5:42 left in the game, the Yellow Jackets grew their lead to 20 on another three from Vidal. AIC grew its lead to 28, a game-high, on a layup by sophomore guard Xion Golding, and held on for an 83-63 win.
BUZZWORTHY:
- The Yellow Jackets' 83 points is a new season high. They beat their 82-point performance which came against Roberts Wesleyan on December 1. In the performance, they made a season-high 31 field goals. Additionally, the Yellow Jackets made a season-high 13 threes.
- For the fifth straight game, the Yellow Jackets have not been outrebounded. In their matchup against GCU, the Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Lions by 11, 43-32.
- Junior guard Logan Santiago scored a career-high 21 points against the Lions. His previous high was 19 points against Merrimack College on December 11.
- Vidal also had a career-high 21 points against the Lions. In his performance, he made six field goals including four threes while knocking down six free throws.
