HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Warriors won the toss and deferred to the second half. On their third drive of the game, the Warriors drove the ball 42-yards on eight plays to take the 7-0 lead on a seven-yard run.
  • AIC then took over and started to roll. The Yellow Jackets had four first downs in their next drive, including two that came from redshirt freshman quarterback Prince Olubakinda on fourth and one plays. The Warriors stopped the AIC roll and forced the field goal unit to come onto the field, but the kick was wide left.
  • Merrimack used that momentum to drive 80-yards on five plays to take the 14-0 lead.
  • As the rain continued, both defenses locked down as neither team was able to put points on the board. The teams combined for 10 punts in the second half, including eight straight punts to end possessions, and the scored remained 14-0 at the conclusion of regulation.

GAME NOTES:
  • For the first time this season, the Yellow Jackets did not turn the ball over. The last time the Yellow Jackets did not have a turnover in a game was last season against New Haven on October 28, 2017.
  • Redshirt freshman kicker Rady Rojas-Portilla had his longest punt of the season against the Warriors with a 58-yard punt.

NEXT UP:
  • AIC will return home as the Yellow Jackets wrap up their season with a pair of home games. The Yellow Jackets will host Stonehill College on November 3 before hosting Bentley University on November 10.
