SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's basketball team snapped their five-game losing streak on Saturday against Franklin Pierce, 65-49.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior guard Alyssa Guyon got the scoring started with a layup off an offensive rebound to make it a 2-0 game. Watts added two more points in the first 34 seconds and just 1:13 into the game, the Ravens took their first timeout.
- Ravens started to get things going as they made it a one-point game, 7-6, two minutes into the game. The Yellow Jackets would lock down on defense as after one quarter, AIC led the Ravens by 14, 27-13.
- AIC kept the pressure on the Ravens as in the first minute of the quarter, AIC was us by 19. After a jumper by Ishanna Brown and a deep ball from Siders. The two teams kept battling but the Ravens took the second quarter 13-12, but the Yellow Jackets had the 13 point lead, 39-26 at the natural break.
- Over the first four minutes of the second half, Yellow Jackets went on a 10-0 run to grow their lead to 23, 49-26. It took almost over four minutes for the Ravens to add a point to their total on a Kelsey Mayo free throw. After a 4-0 AIC run, the Ravens finally hit their first field goal of the second half at the 3:34 mark to make it a 53-29 game. After three quarters, the Yellow Jackets led by 23, 55-32
- Franklin Pierce cut their deficit to 13 with a 10-0 run to start the fourth quarter. The closest that the Ravens would get to the Yellow Jackets was at the 5:12 mark, 58-47, as the Yellow Jackets snapped their losing streak with the 65-49 win over the Ravens.
GAME NOTES:
- The Yellow Jackets have outscored their opponents by double-digits in their last five wins.
- Sharing is caring for the Yellow Jackets. The Yellow Jackets have recorded 13+ assists in nine games this season including their second highest of the season, 16, against the Ravens,
- With her double-double against the Ravens, Watts recorded her 15th double-double of the season. This ranks her second in the country only behind Laney Lewis of Ursuline with 17.
