WORCESTER, Massachusetts -The American International College men's basketball team snapped its three game losing streak with an 68-56 victory over Assumption College in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Wednesday, January 17.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Assumption was on the board first at 18:11 when they knocked down a pair of free throws to move the scoreboard off zero. They added a field goal before Owens put the Yellow Jackets on the board at 17:06. Andrew Anderson tied the game at six under the 15 minute mark as AIC looked to earn their first lead of the game.
- Unfortunately, the Greyhounds grew their lead to six before the Yellow Jackets made another shot.
- With 5:09 left in the first half, the Greyhounds grew their lead to double-digits on a deep ball. Anderson laid one in with two and a half to bring it back to single-digits. At the half, the Yellow Jackets trailed 33-23.
- The Yellow Jacket halftime pep talk put some spunk in the team as they held the Greyhounds to just 12 points in the first 14 minutes of the second half.
- Swan started the scoring off in the second half a minute and a half in to make it an eight point game. Half of the Greyhounds 12 points came in a matter of 48 seconds, from 17:48 until 17:01. That was when the Yellow Jackets started to make their run. AIC rallied off 13 consecutive points to take the lead with 13:22 left on the clock.
- AIC then went on a 14-4 run over the next seven minutes to take an 11 point, 54-43 lead with 6:17 to go in the game.
- With 3:02 left in the game, Assumption cut the Yellow Jackets' lead to single-digits. Moments later, Williams knocked down a pair from the charity stripe to bring it back to a 10-point game.
GAME NOTES:
- Senior forward Swan notched his fourth double-double of the season. Williams's double-double is just his first of the season.
- The Yellow Jackets' 12 point win is their largest margin of victory following a loss this season.
- AIC has racked up multiple blocked shots in 10 straight games.
- For the first time since December 6, 2016, the Yellow Jackets had 10 or fewer fouls in a game.
