HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After Bentley started off the game on an 8-0 run, AIC got its first points with a three from sophomore guard Rashana Siders. Down 13-5 at the 2:57 mark of the opening quarter, freshman guard Nyrie Holliman converted on a layup to bring the Yellow Jackets within six points. After a pair of made free throws from the Falcons brought their lead to double digits, freshman forward Jayla McDuffie made a layup to make the score 18-9.
- Just 34 seconds into the second quarter, Bentley was able to get its biggest lead of the contest thus far at 14 with a triple from Amy McConnell, but AIC answered right back with a jumper from freshman guard Ishanna Brown. The Yellow Jackets continued to try and cut into the Falcon lead when Siders made another three to bring AIC within nine points at the 5:35 mark of the second quarter. During the last 3:30 of the half, down 35-21, AIC went on a 5-0 run to trail by only nine points at the break.
- Starting the third quarter, the Yellow Jackets were able to get even closer to the lead with two straight baskets from junior forward Dana Watts. Minutes later, at the 7:32 mark, Brown made a layup to have the Yellow Jackets down just three points. After the made basket from Brown, the Falcons proceeded to go on an 11-0 run in the span of 3:26 to have a 48-34 cushion.
- Down 54-38 at the 7:41 mark of the fourth quarter, Brown made a layup to make the score 54-40. After Watts made a pair of free throws with 2:36 left in the game, Bentley went on a quick 5-0 run to have a 63-45 lead with 1:37 remaining in the contest. The Falcons would sink two more free throws and earn a 65-47 victory.
