- AIC was on the board the three and a half minutes into the game when Harvey scored and added a conversion to give AIC the early 7-0 lead. Lymas then added a try, and Harvey had the conversion to make it 14-0.
- The Golden Rams scored their only try and conversion of the game a little bit after the 11 minute mark to make it 14-7.
- AIC scored five more times in the first half, including two tries from Harvey and two from Clark to take the 43-7 lead at the half.
- The Yellow Jackets used nine tries and six Harvey conversions in the second half to reach the century mark.
BUZZWORTHY:
- This is the first time that the Yellow Jackets have scored 100 points since October 17, 2015, when they beat Sacred Heart at home.
- The 100 points put up by the Yellow Jackets is the third-highest total in varsity program history. Those two games both came in 2015 against Sacred Heart, October 17, 145-7, and September 19, 114-10.
- For just the second time in varsity program history, AIC held an opponent to seven points or under. The only other time that happened was against Sacred Heart on October 17, 2015.
COACHES CORNER:
- "The team have worked hard for this win. After two tough losses at Army and Penn State," said head coach Peter Lang."In both those games we put some impressive phases together but were not able to sustain it for 80 minutes. Today we did that in impressive fashion. We have been working hard to bring more dimensions to our game and that showed today with sixtries from the forwards and 10 tries from the backs. There were times where we were a little quiet at the end of each half and that is something we will need to work on. Our hunger and urgency in defense is something we have tried to get better at this week and that really showed as our line speed shut down and frustrated any possession West Chester had.
UP NEXT:
- The Yellow Jackets host reigning NIRA champion Quinnipiac on September 30 at 5 p.m. in the team's home opener.
