SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College men's lacrosse team fell to Dominican College of the ECC by a score of 17-7 on Tuesday, March 7 at Ronald J. Abdow Field.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 0-7 overall. With the win, the Chargers move to 1-2 overall.
Dominican got on the board first, firing in the first two goals of the game before Jack McIntyre ripped in a goal for AIC, to make it a 2-1 game. McIntyre had another to make it a 3-2 game, but that would be the closest the Yellow Jackets would get to tying the Chargers, as Dominican scored nine of the next 10 goals, only seeing their streak broken up by a Jack Shaughnessy goal at 12:38 of the second quarter which made it a 5-3 game. The Chargers would take a 12-3 lead over the Yellow Jackets into halftime.
The Yellow Jackets and Chargers both scored twice in the third quarter, as McIntyre scored again at 12:33. Dominican had back-to-back goals before John Magliano had a tally on the man advantage for the last goal of the third quarter at 6:37. The Jackets would only get goals twice more in the fourth quarter, as they recorded the first and last goals. Magliano scored at the 10:25 mark to make it 14-6 before three straight Charger goals came to pass. McIntyre added one more tally to the board for AIC with just 44 seconds left to make it a 17-7 loss for the Yellow Jackets.
AIC will next be in action on Saturday, March 11, when it travels to Manchester, New Hampshire, to face St. Anselm College. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m.
