The American International College women's basketball team hits the road for the middle game of their three game-road swing Saturday, January 14, when they take on the Falcons of Bentley at 1:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT:The Yellow Jackets got the road trip off on the right foot with a 76-49 win over the Ravens.
Dana Wattshad 20 points and eight rebounds.
Imani Stepneywas second on the team in both points and boards with 15 and seven.
Destine Perryhad a career-high 13 points as she want 4-for-6 from the floor, including 2-for-3 behind the arc. Rounding out the double-digit scoring was
Jayda Gilmorewith 11 points, four rebounds, and six assists.
LAST TIME THEY MET:The last time these two met, the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament title was on the line. The 25-4 Yellow Jackets and the 24-5 Falcons played in Waltham, Massachusetts in a close 67-60 game. The Falcons battled back from a six point deficit after 30 minutes of play to take the conference title.
Brianna Bishop led the Yellow Jackets with 19 points.
Kamika Mason added 16 points and 11 boards.
SATURDAY ROAD WARRIORS: This season the Yellow Jackets are 3-1 in Saturday road games. Their lone road loss came against Adelphi back on November 19, 80-73.
A PAIR OF DOUBLES:The Yellow Jackets have recorded 20 double-doubles this season. Watts has netted 12 of those while Stepney has seven, and
Alyssa Guyonhas the other. AIC is a perfect 7-0 in games in which two players record double-doubles. The 19 combined double-doubles between Watts and Stepney also lead the country for most tandem double-doubles. Sisters Mackenzie and Madison Rowland of Queens (NY) are not far behind with 16.
CONSISTENCY:Sophomore standout Watts has been one of the most consistent players in the country this season. Watts has recorded a double-double in 11of the Yellow Jackets' 15 games this season. She is averaging 22.4 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game. She ranks in the top 10 nationally in double-doubles (1

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:Dana Wattswon her third NE-10 Player of the Week award this week. Last week, she put up 28 points and 11 rebounds against Southern New Hampshire. She averaged 23 points, nine boards, 2.5 blocks and a steal per game.
REGIONAL POLL:This week, the Yellow Jackets fell a spot in the D2SIDA East Region poll after falling to Assumption on Wednesday, January 4. The Yellow Jackets are now ninth in the east region. The NE10 is showing their power in the regional rankings. Adelphi is ranked number one with four first-place votes while Bentley is second with two first-place votes. Assumption is ranked eighth, AIC is ninth, and Le Moyne is tenth.
