DUDLEY, Massachusetts - The American International College women's tennis team fell 9-0 to Nichols College on Thursday in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
Sophomore
Carleyah McLean fell in a 6-3, 6-4 contest to Amarie Settiwongse at first singles, and senior
Isabela Daudt battled in a 6-1, 7-5 contest with Alanna Judd at second singles.
McLean and Daudt teamed up at first doubles, coming up short against Settiwongse and Danielle Mandel, 8-5.
Senior
Eleanna Fulop and graduate student
Logan Smith had an 8-4 showing at second doubles. Fulop fell at third singles, 6-0, 6-2, and Smith played to 6-1, 6-2 at fourth singles.
Yliannis Knaggshad a 6-0, 6-1 result at fifth singles, while
Alice Calabrese finished with scores of 6-0, 6-1 at sixth singles.
The Yellow Jackets will next play on Wednesday, October 5, when they host St. Anselm College at Central High School.
