WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The American International College women's tennis team fell to Assumption College, 9-0, on Saturday, September 17.
Sophomore Carleyah McLean played a tough match at first singles against Assumption's Cassie Burbine, splitting her first two sets, 4-6, 6-3. She fell in her match tiebreak, 10-7.
McLean teamed up with senior Eleanna Fulop at first doubles, battling in an 8-3 loss. Fulop also fell at second singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Graduate student Logan Smith and sophomore Alice Calabrese had an 8-0 loss at second doubles. Smith also dropped a third-singles match to Assumption's Paige Benoit, 6-1, 6-0.
The Yellow Jackets next play on Wednesday, September 21 on the road against Le Moyne College.
