The American International College women's tennis team fell to Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday in Rindge, New Hampshire by a score of 7-2.
Sophomore Carleyah McLean earned a win at first singles with a score of 7-6(3), 6-1 against Franklin Pierce's Alana Wyatt. Senior Eleanna Fulop had the team's other victory of the day, winning her first set by a score of 6-1 before her opponent retired in the second set.
Fulop paired up at first doubles with graduate student Logan Smith, fighting in an 8-4 loss. McLean and sophomore Alice Calabrese teamed up at second doubles, falling 8-1. Smith battled in a tough third singles matchup, falling by scores of 6-3, 6-1.
AIC is next scheduled to play on Saturday, September 17, when it travels to Worcester, Massachusetts for a matchup against Assumption College.
