Women's tennis loses nail-biter to New Haven

In a match that lasted more than four hours, the American International College women's tennis team was resilientbut fell to the University of New Haven in a 5-4 result that came down to the final match on Sunday at Central High School.

Sophomore Carleyah McLean went undefeated on the day, winning her match at first singles in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. She teamed up with graduate student Logan Smith for a victory at second doubles, 8-2.

Smith, at fourth singles, fought in the longest match of the day, ultimately falling in a third set by a score of 6-4.

Senior Isabela Daudt won at second singles by scores of 6-3, 6-3. Her classmate Eleanna Fulop emerged victorious at third singles, 6-0, 6-1. Fulop and Daudt also paired up at first doubles and battled in a long match but fell by a score of 8-4.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Thursday, September 15, with a trip to Rindge, N.H. to face Franklin Pierce University.
