SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts- The American International College volleyball team hosted Assumption College on Tuesday, October 18 as they looked to move above .500 in the conference. One their way to a 3-0 sweep, the Yellow Jackets swung a season-high .319 as team. The Yellow Jackets took the sets 25-17, 25-19 and 26-24
The Yellow Jackets showed their dominance in the match, as the only statistical category they did not win was blocks. Diva Riva-Reyes notched 13 kills with one error to swing .500 tonight.
Jana Potic and
Annie Boele each recorded 10 kills. Potic also chipped in 13 digs to earn her fourth double-double of the season.
Dolores Kopren set up 42 of the Yellow Jackets' 43 kills. Libero
Mercy Rivera dug 13 balls while adding the only other assist in the match.
With the 13 digs tonight, Rivera moved into seventh place in Yellow Jacket history in career digs with 1,134. She trails Kambryn Williams (2007-10) by 19 digs for sixth place.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, October 21 when they host Merrimack at 7 p.m.
