SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts- The American International College volleyball team hosted conference foe St. Anselm and ECC rival Mercy College. The Yellow Jackets fought hard in the first match against St. Anselm, 21-26, 25-13, 28-15, and 19-25. While St. Anselm and Mercy played a three set match, the Yellow Jackets refocused and beat the Mavericks 25-15, 25-12, and 28-26.

The Yellow Jackets were led by
Marley D'Amore Morrison with 14 kills and
Jana Potic notched 12 in the four set match. Needing 11 digs,
Mercy Rivera joined the Yellow Jacket's 1,000 Dig Club as she notched 19 digs in the match.
Dolores Kopren assisted on 31 of the Yellow Jackets 41 kills.

Coming off the 3-1 loss, the Yellow Jackets came out ready to play. In the first set, they swung a match high .333 with 15 kills in 30 attempts. For the second time of the day,
Marley D'Amore Morrison led the team with 17 kills, the only Yellow Jacket in double-digits. Rivera's 18 digs in the match moved her to ninth all-time in Yellow Jacket history with 1,026, two digs behind Kervelle Redhead.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Tuesday, October 4 in Pleasantville, New York at 7 p.m.
