Ana Paula Simoes (Brasilia, Brazil) moved to 3-0 at No. 1 singles with her win over Assumption Thursday afternoon at Central High School in Northeast-10 action. The Yellow Jackets fell to the Hounds, 7-2, moving to 1-3 to start the season.
Simoes battled back from a major deficit in her opening set with Cassie Burbine. Down 0-3 and 1-4 to open her first singles match, Simoes fought her way to a 6-4 win. The veteran used the momentum to cruise in the deciding second set, 6-1. Her and junior partner
Isabela Daudt (Nova Hamburgo, Brazil) battled Burbine and Hound Hannah Riley to an 8-6 victory.

Eleanna Fulop (Anixi-Attiki, Greece) played well, however, dropped both sets 6-4, 6-4 in third singles.
AIC next hosts Le Moyne, Wednesday, Sep. 23. First serve is slated for 3 p.m. from Central High.
