SPRINGFIELD, Mass. The American International College women's tennis team fell to Saint Rose in Northeast-10 action Saturday afternoon, 6-3.
The Yellow Jackets started with a 9-7 doubles win by senior
Ana Paula Simoes (Brasilia, Brazil) and junior
Isabela Daudt (Nova Hamburgo, Brazil). Both went on to claim their singles matches.
Simoes defeated Averie Bowen at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1, while Daudt knocked off Isabella Cubillos in a three-set match, 2-6, 6-5 (10-5).
At No. 3 singles,
Eleanna Fulop (Anixi-Attiki, Greece) also fought her way to a tie breaker, but fell in the hard fought match, 2-6, 6-2 (12-10).
The Yellow Jackets return to action Thursday, Sep. 17 when they host Assumption in an NE-10 match at Central High. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
