ABOUT AIC: With the loss Saturday at Le Moyne, 86-77, and So. Connecticut's win at St. Rose, AIC (19-6, 14-5 NE-10) has clinched the Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division second seed and will play host to the Northeast Division third seed Sunday, Mar. 1 at Butova Gymnasium. With a 19 victories, AIC has won 10 more games than the 2013-14 squad and counting. Their 14 league wins is eight more than last season's total, a year they finished fifth in the Southwest and lost the final nine games. With a stellar stretch over the last five games (25.25 PPG), junior guard Cameron Dobbs (Albany, N.Y.) has climbed to the teams leader in points, 17.8.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Prior to tip-off American International College will recognize its six seniors; D.J. Gutridge (Neptune, N.J.), Bobby Harris (Berlin, N.J.), Al-Shabazz Jabateh (East Orange, N.J.), Viondy Merisma (Waltham, Mass.) Jamel Michael (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Marcus Porter (New Castle, Del.).

SCOUTING #25 SO. CONNECTICUT: On a nine game win streak, So. Connecticut (19-5, 16-3 NE-10) climbed back into the NABC Poll last week. The Owls have been red hot since dropping two in-a-row to Northeast Divisional foes St. Michael's and Stonehill a little over a month ago. SCSU boasts the leagues most potent offense, scoring 90.8 points, but in turn allows the highest point total (77.8) on defense. The Owls balanced attack of Tylon Smith (18.9), Michael Mallory (18.3) and Luke Houston (18.3) make for a troublesome unit to defend. Desmond Williams and Deshawn Murphy also average double digit scoring for a squad that puts up big numbers on offense.

LAST TIME THEY MET: AIC ended the game on a 15-7 run, outlasting the Owls in a 100-91 road victory in early December. At the time So. Connecticut was ranked second in the country. The Yellow Jackets used five double digit scorers to keep pace led by Harris' 27 points. Trahmier Burrell went 10-14 from the field for 25 points and 11 boards for the double-double. The Yellow Jackets hit 10-of-20 from beyond the arc and shot over 49 percent for the game.

POSTSEASON BREAKDOWN: The Yellow Jackets secured the Southwest Division's second seed and will play host to the Northeast Division's third seed Sunday, Mar. 1 at Butova Gymnasium. Be sure to check out www.aicyellowjackets.com for game information.
