MANCHESTER, N.H. The American International College volleyball team fell in straight sets at Southern New Hampshire Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 action.
With the loss AIC falls to 13-11 overall and 7-6 in NE-10 matches, while with the win So. New Hampshire improves to 11-13 and 6-6 in conference action.
The Yellow Jackets were swept twice in-a-row for the first time all season, dropping sets of 19-25, 16-25 and 23-25.
In the final set, AIC overcame an 11-2 start, going on a 12-7 run of their own. AIC managed to take the lead, going up 22-20, but the Penmen went 5-1 to take the set and clinch the match.
American International junior outside hitter Natalija Dordevic (Belgrade, Serbia) led the team with seven kills, while freshman setter Roxana Wenger (Giph-Oberfrick, Switzerland) recorded 24 assists. Sophomore libero Mercy Rivera (Canovanas, P.R.) led the team with 14 digs.
The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season Saturday, Nov. 14 at home against Bentley. Senior's Bailey Swan (Belviderre, Ill.) and Franny Sanchez (West Springfield, Mass.) will be honored prior to first serve.
