SPRINGFIELD, Mass. The American International men's basketball team earned its sixth straight win Saturday afternoon over the College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Southwest Divisional action at Butova Gymnasium, 75-56.
Both squads traded buckets in the early goings of the first half as AIC held the slim 16-13 advantage before embarking on a 14-4 run to grab a 30-17 advantage with 3:04 to play.
The Jackets then grabbed their largest lead of the half at 37-21 after junior
Cameron Dobbs (Albany, N.Y.) dialed one in from long range and senior
Bobby Harris (Berlin, N.J.) hit one-of-two from the charity stripe with 32 ticks remaining in the half.
The Yellow Jackets stayed hot from the field to start the second half as both Harris and junior
Trahmier Burrell (Albany, N.Y.) connected from long range for a 49-29 advantage with 13:41 to play.
Harris then drilled a three pointer with 12:06 left to give the Jackets a 24 point lead at 56-32.
AIC maintained a 20-plus point lead for the remainder of the afternoon extending it to as much as 28 after a three point basket from Dobbs with 5:28 remaining.
American International returns to action next week when they host Southern New Hampshire University at 3:30 p.m. at the Butova Gymnasium.?
