SETTING THE SCENE: The Yellow Jackets look to stay unbeaten when the University of Bridgeport comes to town for the 2014 home opener in non-conference action Wednesday night at Henry A. Butova Gymnasium at 1 p.m.

ABOUT THE YELLOW JACKETS: AIC (2-0, 0-0 NE-10) swept the opening weekend of play, defeating non-conference foes NYIT and LIU Post behind impressive second half pushes. The Jackets combined to outscore both squads 87-57 in the second half of play over the weekend. Senior guard Bobby Harris averaged 22.5 points-per-game while shooting over 57 percent from the floor and over 58 percent from three. Forward classmate Marcus Porter averaged 21.5 PPG and also combined to shoot over 53 percent.

SCOUTING THE PURPLE KNIGHTS: Bridgeport (0-2, 0-0 ECC) dropped both games in the 2014 UB Men's Basketball NE-10 vs. ECC Challenge last weekend. The Purple Knights fell 90-75 to Saint Anselm and 99-78 to So. Connecticut State, two of the leagues best teams from last season. In the two games, Bridegport shot just over 40 percent while allowing their opponents 57 percent.

LAST TIME THEY MET: AIC shot nearly 58 percent from the field as three Jackets eclipsed 20 points in a 91-79 win in Bridgeport last November. Harris returns as the leading scorer from the contest, having socred 22 off 7-of-12 shooting to go along with eight assists. AIC made 33 -of-57 field goal attempts, 12-of-23 from beyind the arc, and 13-of-14 from the free throw line in an impressive offensive day.

NEXT UP: AIC opens Northeast-10 Southwest Division play at home against Adelphi Saturday, Nov. 22. Tip-off is slated for 3:30 p.m.
