COLCHESTER, Vt. - American International junior guard
Bobby Harris' (Berling, N.J.) last second shot at the final horn fell just short of the rim as the Saint Michael's hung on for a 66-63 Northeast-10 victory Tuesday night at Ross Sports Center.
With the loss AIC falls to 9-11 and 6-7 in conference, while with the win the Purple Knight's improve to 13-5 overall and 8-5 in the NE-10.
Down three, Harris caught an inbounds pass and got a clean turn, but the three as time expired fell just short. Harris led the Yellow Jackets with 16.
AIC led 40-33 at the half, but the Purple Knight's held the Yellow Jackets to just over 25 percent shooting in the second half and had no answer for James Cabronne, who net a game-high 28 points and 20 rebounds.
Junior
Marcus Porter (New Castle, Del.) chipped in 14 and grabbed nine boards. Senior guard
Janek Schmidkunz (Berlin, Germany) hit three three's for nine points.
AIC returns home Saturday, Feb. 1 to host Saint Anselm. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. from Butova Gymnasium.
