Ten-Run Sixth Gives Pace 16-4 Win Over Baseball Team

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The American International College baseball team dropped a 16-4 Northeast-10 decision at Pace University on Sunday afternoon. The Setters improve to 23-9 overall and 13-4 in the conference, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 13-14 overall and 4-10 in the NE-10.

The Setters scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning when senior Charlie Galasso (West Harrison, NY) hit a two RBI single to center field for a 3-0 lead.

Pace had a 6-0 lead heading in the sixth inning, AIC scored three runs in the top of the inning as junior Dave Clark (West Springfield, Mass.) hit an RBI double to center field. The Setters answered back with a 10 run inning in the bottom of the frame to extend their lead to 16-3. Pace earned a 16-4 victory over the Yellow Jackets.

Sophomore Ryan Acevedo (Temecula, Calif.) took the loss for AIC throwing 2.1 innings and allowing three runs on four hits and striking out three, while freshman Dylan Mouzakes (Dix Hills, NY) earned the win for Pace as he threw three innings and allowed three runs on three hits.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Assumption College on Tuesday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
