EAST LANSING, Mich.-Senior keeper Will Yanakeff (Jerome, Mich.) rejected all 26 shots he faced in a 4-0 shutout win for the Michigan State Spartans against the American International ice hockey team this afternoon.
AIC falls to 1-3-0, remaining 1-0-0 in Atlantic Hockey, while the Spartans rise to 3-3-0 overall, with no Big Ten games played yet.
After a scoreless first period, the Spartans got on the board on a two-on-none when St. Louis Blues draft pick freshman left wing Mackenzie MacEachern (Troy, Mich.) put back a rebound at 1:46 for his second of the year. MSU added a second goal in the frame when captain and senior right wing Greg Wolfe (Canton, Mich.) blasted home a one-timer on the power play at 12:10 for his fifth of the season.
The Spartans added two more in the third, with MacEachern netting his second of the game and third of the year at 4:17 and then closed out the scoring at 14:59 when freshman right wing Joe Cox (Chelsea, Mich.) pushed a rebound home for his second of the season.

Hunter Leisner (Garland, Texas) was strong in the cage in his first collegiate start, turning aside 36 shots in the loss.
AIC returns to Massachusetts and Atlantic Hockey play Friday when they head to the John A. Ryan Skating Arena to take on the rival Bentley Falcons Friday, November 8 at 7:05 p.m.
