ABOUT AIC: The Yellow Jackets (1-3-0, 1-0-0 AHA) return from the midwest after a trip to Michigan State where they went 0-2-0 over the weekend. In the opening game, AIC rallied from a 5-1 deficit, but fell short, 5-4. Freshman Sean Federow (Niagara Falls, Ont.) got the rally started with a goal at 8:44 mark with an AIC power play goal. Junior Jake Williams scored within three minutes later, but junior Alexander MacMillan's 19:54 power play goal would be all the Yellow Jackets could muster. AIC featured a pair of freshman netminders in East Lansing. Ty Reichenbach (Billings, Mont.) started his second career game after holding Sacred Heart to one goal the week before. Against the Spartans he made 42 saves. In Sunday's 4-0 blanking, Hunter Leisner (Garland, Texas) got his first career start, tallying 36 saves. In the first game, American International was successful on two power plays, scoring on two opportunities, but were unsuccessful in all four PP chances in the second contest.
About BENTLEY: It will be the home opener for the Falcons who have started their first eight games on the road. In their last outing, Bentley jumped ahead of Army 3-0 and closed them out for a 5-2 win last Saturday. Alex Grieve and Andrew Gladiuk got Bentley on the board in the first, before Max French opened up the 3-0 lead in the first five minutes of the second period. Gladiuk would add his second power play goal of the day, while Brett Gensler chipped in as well. Goalie Braden Komm has made all eight starts in net this season, allowing 23 goals with a 2,90 goals-against-average and .918 save percentage.
About the Series: The Yellow Jackets trail Bentley 24-20-3 all-time, but winners of the last two. Taking the final weekend series of the 2012-13 season in Bentley.
THEIR LAST MEETING: AIC won a 4-3 overtime decision on March 2, 2013.
Jon Puskar and Brandon Fagerheim scored a goal apiece in the final period to force overtime where Blake Peake scored a shorthanded goal to complete the weekend sweep of the Falcons. The win secured AIC a spot in the postseason. Ben Meisner made 34 saves in the win in his final regular season game between the pipes.
Next up: AIC returns to action Friday, November 15 when the travel to Holy Cross. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
