SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The American International College baseball team dropped a 4-0 Northeast-10 conference decision at Le Moyne College on Tuesday afternoon. The Dolphins improve to 32-12-1 overall and 17-8-1 in conference play, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 14-26-1 overall and 6-19-1 in the NE-10.
Junior Ryan Mahoney (Clay, N.Y.) hit a homerun to left field for a 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning which proved to be the only run Le Moyne would need to earn the win. Classmate Vincent Redmond (Ithaca, N.Y.) hit an RBI single to give the Dolphins a 2-0 lead in the second.
Junior Zack Wiley (Toluca Woods, Calif.) hit a homerun down the left field line for a 3-0 lead, while Mahoney hit his second homerun of the contest over the left field fence for a 4-0 victory over AIC.
Junior Casey Cannon (Manasquan, N.J.) earned the win for the Dolphins throwing nine innings and striking out seven batters and allowing only three hits, while sophomore
Cam MacDonald (Weymouth, Mass.) took the loss on the mound throwing seven innings and allowing four runs on nine hits.
The Yellow Jackets will host a Bloomfield College on Thursday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference contest at AIC Park.
