NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The American International College men's soccer team fell to 0-1-1 for the season after suffering a 2-1 loss to Post University at the Merrimack Soccer Classic. To Eagles improved to 1-0-1 with the win.
Sophomore forward Joe Baccielo ((Stratford, Conn.) put Post on the board 9:45 into the game and the score remained 1-0 until the 84th-minute when sophomore back Jon Dzurilla (Torrington, Conn.) fired a shot into the right side of the net to give the Eagles a 2-0 advantage.
The second marker proved to be the game-winner as senior midfielder
Drou Goff (Pembroke, N.H.) brought the Yellow Jackets back within one just 1:03 later for the 2-1 final.
Junior keeper Errol Reid (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) recorded four saves to earn the win in goal for the Eagles, while junior keeper
Corey Cameron (Westfield, Mass.) had two stops in taking the loss for AIC.
The Yellow Jackets outshot Post 17-14 in the game and had a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
AIC will next travel to Queens (N.Y.) College September 8 for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
