WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College men's ice hockey team earned a 3-3 tie against Army on Friday night. The Yellow Jackets move to 2-8-2 overall and 2-3-2 in Atlantic Hockey play, while the Black Knights now stand at 1-5-3 overall and 1-3-2 in the AHA.

Senior forward Nielsson Arcibal (San Diego, Calif.) put AIC on the board early in the first period at 5:55 off a pass from freshman forward Matt Cassidy (London, Ont.)and junior forward Nick Grasso (Smithtown, N.Y.).

Junior forward Adam Pleskach (Beausejour, Man.) extended the lead to 2-0 with 43 seconds left in the first period. Sophomore forward Blake Peake (Lethbridge, Alb.)and freshman forward Nathan Sliwinski (Castle Rock, Colo.) earned the assists of Pleskach's goal.

Junior forward Andy Starczewski and freshman defenseman Maurice Alvarez scored for Army in the second period to tie the contest at 2-2.

The Yellow Jackets took the lied in the third period when junior forward Steve Mele (Bronx, N.Y.) found the back of the net at 7:08 off a dish from junior forward Richard Leitner (Los Alamitos, Calif.) and freshman defenseman Steven Hoshaw (Vista, Calif.)

Senior forward Mike Hull tied the contest at 3-3 with seven minutes left to play. AIC and Army skated to a 3-3 tie.

Junior goalie Ben Meisner (Halifax, N.S.) made 27 saves in net, while junior goaltender Ryan Leets stopped 39 for the Black Knights.

AIC will travel to Brown University on Tuesday November 22nd for a 7:05 p.m. AHA contest in Providence, R.I. The Yellow Jackets will return home for a weekend series against Canisius on November 26-27. Saturdays contest will be at 7:05 p.m., while Sunday's contest will be played at 2:05 p.m. at the Olympia Ice Center.
