SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Thirteenth ranked Union Dutchmen recorded an 8-1 victory over the American International men's ice hockey team on Friday night at the Messa Rink. The Dutchmen improved to 8-3-3 overall, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 4-9-0 overall.
Senior forward Justin Pallos (Glastonbury, Conn.) found the back of the net 10:58 into the first to give Union the 1-0 lead going into the second, while scoring again in the second for a two point night. Sophomore forward Jeremy Welsh (Bayfield, ON) produced a multiple point night with three goals. He scored his first goal in the second-period, while finding the back of the net again 2:37 and 7:37 into the third.
Junior forward Kelly Zajac (Winnipeg, MAN), senior forward John Simpson (Boxborough, Mass.) and sophomore forward Kyle Bodie (East St. Paul, MAN) each scored one for the Dutchmen.
AIC's only goal came19:23 in the second when sophomore forward
Adam Pleskach (Beausejour, Man.) found the back of the net on an unassisted goal.
Senior Corey Milan (Great Barrington, Mass.) stopped 14 in 46 minutes to earn the victory for Union before being replaced by freshman goaltender Troy Grosenick (Brookfield, Wis.), who made four saves in 15 minutes. Freshman goaltender

The Dutchmen outshot AIC 46-19.
AIC will travel to Mankato, Minn. to take on Minnesota State on January 7th for a 8:37 p.m. and January 8th, 8:07 p.m. in a non conference hockey contest.
