SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American International College men's basketball team shot just 34.4 percent (21-61) from the field in a 70-62 loss to visiting Post University Saturday evening at Butova Gymnasium in a non-conference contest. The Eagles improved to 4-8, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 6-6.
Freshman forward Trevon Hamlet (Brooklyn,. N.Y.) scored a game-high 20 points to lead five players in double-figures for Post. Freshman guard Rashamell Vereen (Meriden, Conn.) scored 13 points and freshman guard Nyheem Sanders (Pawtucket, R.I.) added 12 points.
Graduate guard John Lucky (Waterbury, Conn.) registered a double-double with 10 points and 13 boards, while junior guard Spencer Smith (White Plains, N.Y.) added 11 points and five boards.

The Eagles led 43-34 at the half and were up 51-40 6:19 into the second half before the Yellow Jackets went on an 14-3 run to pull within three, 54-51, midway through the period. Post answered with a 10-2 run to open a 64-53 lead with five minutes to go in the contest.
The Eagles shot 51.6 percent (32-62) from the field while holding AIC to 34.4 percent. The Yellow Jackets outrebounded Post 41-33.
AIC will next host Merrimack Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in a Northeast-10 contest.
