Men's Soccer Blasts Post 4-0

North Andover, Mass. – Sophomore forward #Thomas Denomme# (North Smithfield, R.I.) scored each of the game's first two goals to lead the American International College men's soccer team to a 4-0 win over Post University at the Merrimack Soccer Invitational. The win was the Yellow Jacket's first of the season.

Donomme started the scoring when he headed a cross from graduate forward #Leo Santos# (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) 8:09 into the match. The score remained 1-0 until the 63rd-minute when Denomme buried a pass from sophomore back #Barnaba Madol# (Manchester, N.H.) for his second goal of the game.

Freshman midfielder #Conor Doyle# (Douglas, Ireland) added a goal off a free kick just 1:11 later, the first of his collegiate career, and sophomore midfielder #Tim Britt# (North Chelmsford, Mass.) capped the scoring in the 78th-minute with an assist from junior forward/midfielder #Emile Barnett# (Huntington, N.Y.).

Senior keeper #Ryan Brooks-Newman# (Selkirk, N.Y.) made two saves in recording his first win in an AIC uniform, while freshman keeper Errol Reid (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) took the loss after allowing three goals and making five saves in 63:34.

The Yellow Jackets will next play their first-ever game at the all-new John Homer Miller Field Wednesday when they host Stonehill at 4 p.m. in a Northeast-10 contest.
