Men's Basketball Hosts Second-Place UMass Lowell Wednesday Night

ABOUT AIC: The Yellow Jackets enter today's contest with an overall record of 14-10 and are 10-9 in the Northeast-10 after dropping a 66-51 decision at Southern New Hampshire Saturday. Freshman guard Isiah Wallace leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 17.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest. He also leads the team with 33 steals and is second on the team with 54 assists. Senior forward Lucius Millinder is second in scoring and rebounding with 10.3 points and 5.9 boards per contest. Junior forward Aikeem Vanderhorst is averaging 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and freshman guard Adrian Hynes-Guery is averaging 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest with a team-high 78 assists and 28 steals.

AIC'S LAST TIME OUT: SNHU used runs of 10-0 and 9-0 in the second half to secure a 66-51 win over AIC Saturday in Manchester. Sophomore guard Sesoo Ikpah scored a game-high 17 points and pulled down six boards for the Yellow Jackets.

ABOUT UMASS LOWELL: The River Hawks, who are in second place in the NE-10 and are receiving votes in the latest NABC coaches' poll, enter tonight's contest with an overall record of 20-4 and 15-4 in the Northeast-10 after downing Assumption, 65-53, Saturday. Junior forward Victor Colon leads the team in scoring and is second in rebounding with 14.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Kyle Caiola is averaging 13.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest and leads the team with 75 assists and 52 steals. Junior guard Kevin Carr is third in scoring at 11.5 points per game. He's second on the team with 44 steals and ranks third with 55 assists.

LAST TIME THEY MET: AIC put on a late rally but fell just short in a 63-58 loss at UMass Lowell January 17. The Yellow Jackets went on a late 8-0 run to pull within one, 59-58, but were forced to foul and the River Hawks hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the win. Colon led UMass Lowell with 15 points and five rebounds, while Ikpah led AIC with 17 points and seven boards.

PLAYOFF PICTURE: If the season ended today AIC would be seeded seventh and would host a first round playoff game. UMass Lowell would be the second seed and receive a first round bye.

NEXT UP: AIC travels Franklin Pierce for a 3:30 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
