SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American International College football team held off a fourth quarter rally from visiting Saint Anselm College to record a 17-14 Northeast-10 victory Saturday afternoon at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the NE-10, while the Hawks fell to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
AIC scored each of the first 17 points in the game and held a 17-0 lead after three quarters, but Saint Anselm put up 14 points in the fourth to make it a 17-14 contest.

Kertis Hussey# (Paterson, N.J.) returned a punt 90 yards for a touchdown to give AIC a 7-0 lead with just 45 seconds left in the first half. He broke several tackles on the play and received great blocking as he broke down the near sideline for the score.

Saint Anselm got on the board on the ensuing possession as the Hawks put together an 18-play scoring drive that was capped off when freshman quarterback Micheal Pierce (Andover, Mass.) found freshman wide receiver Chris Chapman (Bronx, N.Y.) in the back of the end zone to make it a 17-7 contest.
Junior wide receiver Marcel Bouie (Stone Mountain, Ga.) caught a seven-yard scoring pass from sophomore quarterback Marc Wilson (Farmington, Conn.) with 2:53 to go on the clock, giving the Hawks a chance to tie the game or take the lead if they recovered the ensuing onside kick. Pierce went 19-of-44 for 206 yards and one score for the Hawks before sustaining in injury in the fourth quarter that ended his afternoon. Wilson had six catches for 70 yards and had 15 carries for an additional 71 yards, while Bouie had six catches for 61 yards and a TD.

Senior linebacker Dan Bohenek (Bridgewater, Mass.) led the Hawks defense with a game-high 14 tackles (nine solo), while freshman linebacker Chris Bent (Dracut, Mass.) tallied eight tackles (two solo).
