SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Adelphi University scored seven unanswered goals on its way to a 7-1 Northeast-10 victory over the American International College field hockey team Thursday night at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The Panthers improved to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 4-11 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

Lisa Duckles# (Netcong, N.J.) opened the scoring just 1:48 into the game for AIC and Adelphi tied the score when sophomore midfielder Jeanette Heimerle (Smithtown, N.Y.) scored off a feed from junior forward Natasha Pedzik (Patchogue, N.Y.) at the 14:25 mark. Sophomore back Brittany Kinsley (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) gave the Panthers the lead for good with 2:24 remaining in the first half.
Heimerle finished the match with two goals and two assists, while sophomore forward Julianne Gerbino (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) added two goals in the second half for Adelphi. Pedzik chipped in with one goal and one assist.
